The Prairie Schooner is a national literary quarterly published with the support of the English Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Press. Noted contributors include Jim Thompson, Charles Bukowski, Raymond Carver, and Rita Dove. Chris Ware provided the cover for the 2007 Winter issue.

Chris Ware gave a lecture in the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Feb. 16, 2007.  It was part of the opening of an exhibition that featured his sketches, finished art, and ephemera.  He also contributed an essay and artwork for the gallery guide printed to accompany a simultaneous exhibit, Comic Art,  of the Sheldon’s permanent collection of comic-related pieces.
